TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Straight Drove (C88), Farcet as lies between Gosling Drive and Kings Delph Drove.
Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Straight Drove – Wrights Drove – B1095 – B1092 – B1091 – Main Street, Farcet and vice versa.
The Order is made to facilitate electrical connection works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 October 2017 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 April 2018 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 11 October and 17 October 2017.
The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
In recent months there have been issues with grass cutting in the Parish with varying standards.
The Parish Council has been communicating with the management at Hunts DC which we have now been assured that the grass cutting standards will improve, one of the main problems is that the Parish Council pay for 16 cuts a year whilst the County Council and Luminous pay for less cuts.
It will be an agenda item at future meeting to see whether the Parish Council can adopt the grass cutting for the whole village but this will obviously cost money. Once we have spoken to the County Council and Luminous we will be letting everyone know by newsletter and this website.
Some residents are complaining that the Parish Council is doing nothing, this is simply not the case, the latest grass cutting schedule and village plan are also available on this website.
I have spoken to Gavin Sylvester at Hunts DC regarding the Poultry Farm planning application for an update.
At the moment there is no date timetabled to give a decision mainly due to some reports still needing to be looked at although I was assured that the decision will be made in the very near future.
A couple of updated yellow coloured site notices on the telegraph poles fronting the application site have just been displayed. The updated notices were necessary because the previous notices didn’t make it clear that the proposal did not accord with the development plan or that the Environmental Statement could be inspected at the Council’s offices and copies obtained at a charge from the applicant’s agent.
The need for these notices is purely a procedural matter and they are accompanied by a notice in the local press. The application has not changed in any way. The consideration of the application is not affected. There is no need for anyone to re-submit their objections to the application.
We have received notice of the following road works in the Parish during August from Highways.
